Sealmech range of Needle valves are available in bar stock round & Square body with Screwed (BSP/NPT), Socket Weld, Butt Weld & Flange End Connection. Instead of a disk, a needle valve has a long tapered point at the end of the valve stem. The long taper of the valve element permits a much smaller seating surface area than that of the globe valve; therefore, the needle valve is more suitable as a throttle valve. Normally the material of Needle Valve bodies and its various parts is SS 304, SS316, SS 304L or SS 316L, but depending on the application and the system requirements Brass, Monel, Hastelloy can also be used. Needle valves are also used to control the end of a work cycle, where it is desirable for motion to be brought slowly to a halt, and at other points where precise adjustments of flow are necessary and where a small rate of flow is desired. Size range is from 1/4 to 2" in round and square body construction and pressure rating up to 5000 psig.
