A new series of cost-effective standard DIGIMATIC calipers has been introduced by Mitutoyo, featuring ground-breaking encoder technologies developed over the past 30 years. These calipers are now equipped with the same AOS (Advanced Onsite Sensor) induction-type encoder used in top-of-the-line ABS coolant-proof calipers. Thanks to the adoption of the electromagnetic induction type ABS encoder, these calipers can be used without concern for contamination on the scale face during measurement. The detection signal is unaffected by dirt (water, oil, etc.) on the surface of the scale. They feature a character height of 9 mm with a high-contrast LCD. Carbide-tipped jaw models are ideally suited for the measurement of rough-machined workpieces, castings, and grindstones. The adoption of Mitutoyo’s ABSOLUTE scale technology has achieved a battery life of approximately 18,000 hours under normal use.
