Anushakti HR-FR-PVC is the heat resistant grade, written on most price lists as HRFR wire. The insulation is an e-beam cross linked HR FR PVC compound, so it holds its properties at a higher conductor temperature than ordinary FR PVC and it chars rather than melting when a circuit is pushed. Single core, 1100 V, 0.5 to 16 sq mm, to IS 694:2010. Heat is the quiet killer of house wiring. A geyser, an air conditioner or an induction hob draws close to its full rating for hours at a stretch, and in a closed conduit through a Chennai or Nagpur summer the conductor never really cools down. That is the circuit this grade is for. The compound is termite resistant too, which matters in older buildings and in ground floor conduits. Where low smoke is needed as well, the HR-FR-LSH grade combines both.
