Notifier FST-951R is an addressable rate-of-rise heat detector for Notifier intelligent fire alarm systems. What is it? An intelligent thermal (heat) detector that signals an alarm to the fire alarm control panel when the temperature reaches the fixed set point of 135°F (57°C) or when it rises at a rate of 15°F (8.3°C) per minute. How does it connect? It uses a two-wire signaling line circuit (SLC) connection to a compatible Notifier addressable fire alarm control panel, is set with a rotary decimal address, and plugs into a separate base such as the B300-6, B300A-6, B501 or B224 series, so photoelectric, ionization and thermal sensors can be interchanged on the same base type. Where is it used? Heat detectors are generally chosen instead of smoke detectors in areas where smoke detection is unsuitable, such as spaces with dust or fumes, in commercial, industrial and institutional buildings, subject to the fire alarm design and applicable code.
