Mahashakti Flat Multicore is the XLPO flat cable for submersible pumps. The flat three core profile runs down a borewell beside the delivery pipe without bunching, and the elastomer sheath handles the water, the grit, and the abrasion of being pulled out and put back. Cross linked polyolefin insulation takes more heat than PVC and is self extinguishing. 1.5 to 50 sq mm. A borewell pump is the hardest duty a cable in an Indian home or on a farm has to do. The cable sits in water, carries a starting current several times the running current, and gets hauled up every time the pump is serviced. That is the argument for the XLPO grade over a plain PVC flat cable. Supplied on 500 and 1000 m drums, and also available with XLPE or rubber insulation, or an aluminium conductor.
