Alumshakti Flat Multicore is the aluminium conductor version of the flat submersible cable, with HR PVC insulation and a flat HR PVC sheath. It is the economical choice for pump and distribution runs where the saving on conductor cost outweighs going up a size. Three core flat, 2.5 to 16 sq mm, on 500 m drums. The trade-off is the same as with any aluminium cable: lower cost and less weight, in exchange for a larger cross section and terminations that have to be done properly. For a borewell that is pulled up regularly, the copper Shakti Flat or the XLPO Mahashakti Flat handle the mechanical side better.
